ENGLISH:<\/span><\/span><\/strong> Since 2013 we occasionally develop city hacks to invent and experience the circular city (read our mission statement and watch the mission statement video here<\/a>). The development started under the name \u201eThe City Is Open Source\u201c and is now continued here under \u201eHackers Closing Loops\u201c<\/a>. And we pulled a best of selection from the old page<\/a>. This time 8 city hacks about society!\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

DEUTSCH:<\/span><\/span><\/strong> Seit 2013 entwickeln wir in unregelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Abst\u00e4nden City Hacks, die die nachhaltige Kreislaufstadt erfinden und erfahrbar machen wollen (Mission Statement mit Video dazu steht hier<\/a>). Die Entwicklung begann unter dem Namen \u201eThe City Is Open Source\u201c und wird jetzt hier unter \u201eHackers Closing Loops\u201c<\/a> fortgesetzt. EXPLANATION:<\/em><\/strong> This won\u2019t work everywhere. But in Germany, where I am located, we have a welfare system called Hartz IV. You get basic financial support from the to cover your daily expenses, rent and health insurance. It is not much. But if you don\u2019t have a resource intense life-style, like a circular one, it can be enough. Use it to become a \u2018Circularity Worker\u2019. Life a resource saving lifestyle, live a happy life without lot\u2019s of stuff, and talk openly about it, blog about it, present it on the street. Set up a forum where circularity workers can meet and help each other to invent their life and deal with the state (welfare system). Put a positive spin on working less and receiving something like a \u201cbasic income\u201d already. | A good way to start this as a hack is to set up a website and a forum for it, print flyers and hand them out infront of the Jobcenter (The place where you have to go from time to time if you receive welfare from the state).\u00a0\u2192\u00a0Those people are already living this life\u2019s. But they can\u2019t talk openly about it and can\u2019t put a positive spin on it. Let them be heroes and researchers! | Update: Something like this is also addressed in and planned for FFFS Episode 3: “Sustainably Unemployed”<\/a><\/p>\n

ERKL\u00c4RUNG:<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Das wird nicht \u00fcberall funktionieren. Aber in Deutschland, wo ich mich befinde, haben wir ein Sozialsystem namens Hartz IV. Man erh\u00e4lt eine finanzielle Grundversorgung f\u00fcr Deckung der t\u00e4glichen Ausgaben, f\u00fcr Miete und Krankenversicherung. Es ist nicht viel. Aber wenn man keinen ressourcenintensiven Lebensstil hat, wie z.B. einen zirkul\u00e4ren, kann es genug sein. Man kann das also ganz einfach nutzen, um ein “Circularity-Arbeiter” zu werden! Lebt einen\u00a0ressourcenschonenden Lebensstil, lebt ein gl\u00fcckliches Leben ohne viel Zeug und redet offen dar\u00fcber, bloggt dar\u00fcber, pr\u00e4sentier es auf der Stra\u00dfe. Man k\u00f6nnte ein Forum einrichten, in dem Circularity-Arbeiter sich treffen und einander helfen, ihr Leben zu erfinden und mit den Beh\u00f6rden zu kommunizieren. Erz\u00e4hlt es als positive Geschichte, dass ihr weniger arbeitet und so weniger Ressourcen verbraucht und bereits etwas wie ein bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen zu erhalten!\u00a0| Eine gute M\u00f6glichkeit, dies als Hack zu beginnen, ist die Einrichtung einer Website und eines Forums daf\u00fcr, das Drucken von Flyern und deren Verteilung vor dem Jobcenter (Der Ort, an den man von Zeit zu Zeit gehen muss, wenn man Wohlfahrt vom Staat erh\u00e4lt). Hartz IV-Empf\u00e4nger\u00a0 leben bereits oft unfreiwillig nachhaltige(re) Leben. Aber wir haben bisher keine M\u00f6glichkeit, das als positive Geschichte zu erz\u00e4hlen. Lasst sie Helden und Forscher sein! | Update: So etwas wird auch in FFFS Episode 3: “Nachhaltig arbeitslos<\/a>” erw\u00e4hnt und weiterentwickelt.<\/p>\n

As a resident you pay a very small rent or no rent at all. You become a resident by applying with a \u2018project\u2019. The project is a certain sustainable and circular life-style! You explore it in an open fashion: you blog about it and create tutorials so that others can do the same. Once accepted you are allowed to stay for 5 years in the house. Projects like this could be spread across the city. Work your way into the heart of a real estate company or homeowner to get this project off the ground. And with the current tense real estate and housing market in our cities, press attention is guaranteed. And a WinWin – positive press for the real estate company and sustainable living!<\/p>\n

Als Bewohner zahlt man eine sehr kleine Miete oder auch einfach gar keine Miete. Man wird Bewohner, indem man sich mit einem “Projekt” bewirbt.
